Walt Disney World using drones?

News is that Walt Disney World will be using drones for their new holiday show at Disney Springs. They just recently got permission from FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to be able to fly drones around the parks. Disney has said that they have permission from now till November 2020 to be able to have drones fly around the Disney parks in Florida and California. According to the FAA the waiver can be cancelled at any time and that Disney has to have drone operators who have their pilot certificates and they are allowing the aircraft to be flown at night.

Haunted Mansion Holiday

Image
The Haunted Mansion Holiday has now arrived at the Disneyland Resort. With the arrival of the layover comes a new gingerbread house and a new character. Sally has now arrived in the graveyard scene and as the gingerbread house. In past years of the layover Sally has only been featured in the hallway to Doombuggies as one of the portraits and at the very end as the guests are leaving the ride telling Sandy Claws to hurry back. So welcome Sally to the Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Push the talking trash can

Sad news in the Disney world to report. Those of you that know of Push the Talking Trash Can will be sad because they have retired his as on February 9th. Many in the Disney community have been arguing about if it was true or not but a screen shot of a internal Disney message board stated that they aren't having him anymore. As of today (February 10th) Disney said that since contract negotiations are confidential they are willing to admit that they couldn't come to terms and agree on continuing with the guy who made Push. If you don't know who Push is he is a trash can that moves around Tomorrowland at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World and he talks with guests, dances with them and just interacts with them.

Saving Mr. Banks review

So I saw Saving Mr. Banks recently and I loved it. The movie protrays Walt wanting to make Mary Poppins into a movie but having to work with because she wanted it to be done her way with out all the fluff that Walt would have put I to the movie. It was a battle between Walt, Sherman brothers and the author and the other guy.  The movie had flash backs of her life having an alohic father who couldn't hold a steady job and uprooting the family far away from where they were living. Her mom couldn't handle having three children while taking care of her husband so she called in the nanny to help take care of everything.  Many people are complaining that they made her into a very mean person who wanted everything her way. If they had done any kind of research on the history of the making and history of it then they would have known that she was even more difficult to work with and so was Walt. Atthe vey end of the movie during the credits they played actual audio recordings that she...

Escape from Tomorrow

Image
There is a movie coming out named Escape from Tomorrow. You may or may not have heard of this movie. Escape from Tomorrow is a fan made movie that was made without Disney's permission. They were at the Sundance Film Festival. The director of the movie spent two years in Korea editing the movie because of fear of Disney's lawyers and the beat down that they would cause.  The movie's plot is the father becomes obsessed with a couple of under aged girls on the last day of his family's vacation. He looses his job on the last day of the vacation and doesn't tell his family.   The style of the movie is a futuristic/terror movie. Here is the trailer:

Pirates of the Caribbean history

Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me. Very classic line and everyone knows that song but how many people actually know the history of the ride which prompted the idea of the recent Pirates of the Caribbean movies featuring Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. Pirates is in four different parks: Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park in Paris. The original ride is at Disneyland in California. Walt sadly passed away right before Pirates opened at Disneyland. Disneyland California: Pirates was to be a walk through wax museum type of a attraction instead of a boat ride. The ride is located right when you first walk into New Orleans Square. The facade is of the antebellum era featuring the 31 star flag (1850's). When you get to the front of the line you will see a sign over head that says Lafitte's landing which was name for the famous pirate Jean Lafitte. He had fought alongside the US Army at the Battle of New Orleans in the War of ...

Disney buying Lucasfilms

So Disney has bought Lucasfilms for $4 billion in stocks and cash. I was rather excited for the fact that they would actually start making really good movies with the production part of Lucasfilms. But after reading that they will be making Star Wars parts 7, 8, and 9 I am rather disappointed in the fact that they want to dig the Star Wars movies into the ground some more after Lucas doing all his non-sense with the movies. Parts 1, 2, and 3 were not all that great to start with, 4, 5, and 6 had amazing story lines and were rather interesting to watch. What more is there to tell in this saga? I totally understand the buying of Lucasfilms from George Lucas. Don't really think that Disney would want to keep spending their money on licensing on products and having Star Wars weekend in Walt Disney World, Star Tours, and also the little Star Wars show in Disneyland. So it was good that they bought the company but not the greatest idea to make three more Star Wars movies.

45 fun and interesting facts about Disneyland.

Disney bans junk food on channel

First Lady Michelle Obama and Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Robert Iger annoyed that starting in 2015 Disney will ban junk-food advertising on the television channel and also their radio programs. When they do feature food products, according to the regulations, the products will have to meet the nutritional guidelines. So that means the cartoon characters and also those live actors will not be allowed to be seen eating junk food because it would be giving those that watch the shows the wrong thought about food. By the time 2012 is over any kind of food product that will be sold in the parks and resorts will have the Mickey Check seal of approval which means that the food that are in the resorts and parks have passed the nutrition standards.

Disney raises prices

Well Disney has done it again: They have raised their prices. I was going to be getting the premium season pass this year so that I can go on my birthday (summer baby). but I am not able to nor willing to pay the $649 for the pass. I did the math for two people that want to buy the southern california pass it would be around $700 for them to go. That is way to hard for them to be spending that much money for them to be spending. It is even harder for a family of 5. Yes it is to get money back from the creation of Carsland, Buena Vista Street (when you first enter Disney's California Adventure) and the entire refurb of the Matterhorn in Disneyland. For Southern California Resident: SoCal Resident 2-day 1 park per day Ticket Ages 3 to 9 $99 Ages 10 and up $99 SoCal Resident 2 Day Park Hopper Ticket Ages 3 to 9 $114 Ages 10 and Up $114 Socal Resident 3 Day 1 Park per day Ages 3 to 9 $129 Ages 10 and up $129 SoCal Resident 3 Day Park Hopper Ages 3 to 9 $144 Ages 10 and up $14...

Memories

To those reading my blog what is your fond memory of going to any of the Disney parks? I have so many fond memories of being at Disneyland. Skipping school to go run around Disneyland, running around the parks when I was 18 for the first time, seeing the Christmas and 50th fireworks, going there with my now fiancé, my fiancé proposing to me in front of the castle on valentines day and so many more. Just even talking about anything Disney is a memory because people get to see my love for Disney and truly see just how magical it is. When they hear about the little details about the parks they love it. They are always asking about what is going on there and why is new. So please some of your fond memories in the comments.

Disneyland Enchanted Tiki Room - Original Show

Image
Back in the 60's this was the most awesome thing that people had ever seen. It is still currently in Disneyland in Adventureland.

World of Color

Image
For me personally I have always been amazed by Fantasmic  because I have grown up with that water show/live action. So when I heard that California Adventure was getting their own water show I had very mixed emotions about World of Color. I am still not amazed by WOC it may take many years for me to fully appreciate this water show. I have seen this water show. My Fiancé and I were standing front row and almost to the center. I was by far more enthralled by the mechanics of the show then I was paying attention to the show.

Dream Along with Mickey.

Image
Since I live on the West coast with the original Disneyland I resort to YouTube to see the different shows that happen at Walt Disney World. This show that they do in front of the Castle is pretty magical.  Please enjoy.

A look at Cars Land

Image
I am super excited for Cars Land I can't even explain it. This video that Disney has put together to show the different things that will be in Cars land. I love The Blue Sky Celler because they show the guests all the cool and different things that they will be putting into California Adventure.  Also included in this post is of the neon signs that will light up the night sky when Cars Land.  Please enjoy this short video and leave comments if you would like to know more.

Star Tours Commercials

Image
When Star Tours 2.0 was going to open I was excited about the changes and all the different destinations that were part of it. But when I saw this commercial I was overjoyed with excitement that I couldn't stand the wait. I was lucky enough to go on Star Tours 2.0 a week before it officially opened and I couldn't believe the changes. Yes I am going to miss Rex but I know he is in a good place in the line as one of the visuals that you can see. So he is still part of the line.  I am glad that the updated Star Tours because it was so outdated like the old video film. Yes it is rather tacky with the 3D because most people can't do 3D but it does add nice effects to the ride. The best part is the line just to see the updates to it. Yes they did change the star crusier so that it doesn't have the meteor dents in it anymore (favorite part) but when you get into the next room they are now doing luggage checks instead of the robot fixing the same robot after all these year...

Goofy's vacation Guide.

Image
Many people think that you can do everything at Disneyland in just a day.  If you go during the super slow season then there might be a chance. When you take a vacation with little ones there is no chance of seeing everything because your kids may be too little to ride some of the big rides. If the kids want to meet the characters there goes most of your day trying to find them and also waiting in those long lines just to get a photo and say hi to them for thirty seconds.  Here is a guide that Goofy is part of to show you how to plan for your vacation to any of the Disney parks.  Enjoy.
